Conclusions
-
1.
The diffusion peak of internal friction in solid solutions with an fcc lattice (Finkel'shtein-Rozin peak) can be used for investigating aging of austenitic alloys.
-
2.
In quantitative calculations of the aging process one must take into account the variation of the height of the peak with the concentration of the solid solution and precipitating phase.
-
3.
With a more complex internal friction peak due to deformation or complex composition of the solid solution it is necessary to make an additional analysis of the form and other parameters of the peak.
