1.
The results of this study confirm that porous and dense strip can be produced by rolling iron powder.
-
2.
Details are given of the method of rolling iron powders and the properties of the resulting semi-finished product; these data show that both the porous and the compact metal have satisfactory mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of the dense strip metal can be improved by completely eliminating porosity and by reducing the amount of nonmetallic inclusions in the initial powder.

3.
The porous iron strip can be bent and re-rolled with high drafts. This porous strip is evidently a material which can be used for many articles now manufactured by cold pressing, bending, or stamping: components of filters, self-lubricating spring leaves, or piston rings.
