Abstract
Spectra are reported for aluminosilicate and zirconium silicate catalysts under fixed conditions; poisoning does not cause alkali metals to replace the hydrogen in the OH groups, and these continue to function largely unaltered. The uptake of small amounts of water shows some differences between poisoned and unpoisoned catalysts.
