Effects of electron concentration in the plasma of an arc discharge on the relative population of the displaced levels of the copper atom

Abstract

The relative populations of the e4Dj levels of copper (which differ in autoionization probability) are examined as functions of election concentration Ne; it is found that the latter can be deduced from the relative intensities of the transitions from the levels.
