Effect of carburized electrolytic iron coatings on the cyclic strength of machine parts

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A carburized electrolytic iron coating substantially increases the cyclic strength, providing higher dependability.

     
  2. 2.

    It is recommended that quenching or cooling in air followed by rapid heating to quenching temperature be conducted after carburizing. Carburizing in low-activity carburizers is best.
