Abstract
It is shown that the specific light yield of plastic scintillators irradiated with external electrons is not a constant quantity, owing to the probability of quenching at the surface of the scintillator. The “degree of proportionality” of plastic scintillators can be influenced by the choice of primary additive and its concentration.
