The dumb-bell galaxy NGC 750/751

Abstract

A quantitative analysis of this system from BVR CCD photometry and long slit spectroscopy is presented. Our results indicate that they constitute a physically interacting system. We detect the presence of a dust structure along the line joining the nuclei and the members show isophotal distortion indicating a non-elliptical component, which is also seen in the surface brightness profiles.
