Abstract
A technique for the isotopic spectral analysis of mercury (Hg198 + Hg199) is described. The procedure involves the use of a Fabry-Perot interferometer for studying the HgI spectrum excited in a high-frequency discharge. The relative intensities of the isotopic line components are measured photoelectrically taking account of the superposition of the Hg198 contour on the maximum of the Hg199 component. The possibility of isotopic analysis of Hg198+Hg199 mixtures on the basis of the forbidden Hg 2967. 592 Å line through photographic recording of the spectra is demonstrated.
