Conclusions

  1. 1.

A difference was found in the microstructure of fractures in samples with a notch at the fusion boundary and a notch in the weld metal.

  2. 2.

In comparison with the results from mechanical tests, the electron f actographic method yields significant data on the fracture mechanism of welded joints.
