Determination of losses in lasers

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Abstract

A method is proposed for determining the loss factor for lasers on the basis of measurements of the linear dependence of output power on pumping power, assuming that the efficiency of the source is constant. The method also permits the determination of the efficiency of the source and the active medium.
