Conclusions

Metal built up with Sv-08G2SA wire on steel 45 in a carbon dioxide atmosphere had a very different composition from the base metal and yet their mechanical properties were identical. After heat treatment, the properties and the structure of the built-up and the base metal changed in a similar manner.
