Remarks on the evaluation of critical parameters in self-gravitating systems

Abstract

Using a simple model sketched by Thirring, thermodynamical quantities of a system of self-gravitating fermions are investigated. The onset of a core-halo structure is considered as a phase transition; free energy degeneracy and related critical parameters are found.
