Age-metallicity relation for F-stars

Abstract

We derived the age-metallicity relation for the solar neighbourhood from theuvby, Hβ photometry of F-stars using the evolutionary models of Hejlesen (1980). It is shown that disk formation is divided into two phases according to the fast and slow collapse which accompany the initial rapid enrichment and slow increase of the metallicity of the galactic disk, respectively.
