Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The fracture toughness and cold resistance of 15G steel plates depend on the thickness of the plate and the condition as received. Normalized plates have the best properties.

  2. 2.

    Plates more than 30 mm thick can be used for parts and units subject to vibration or low operating temperatures only after normalization.
