Acceleration of nitriding on heating with high frequency current (H. F. C.)

Conclusions

The nitriding process is accelerated by bathing the heated part in cold gas. This can be achieved not only through the use of induction heating with h. f. c., but also by passing current from a welding transformer through the part.
