Mechanical properties of AE-1 alloy at different temperatures

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of the AE-1 alloy decrease slightly with increasing temperatures from −60 to +200°C. The plastic characteristics remain unchanged.

     
  2. 2.

    The AE-1 alloy has a fairly high fatigue strength; it changes little from 20 to 200°C.

     
  3. 3.

    With increasing temperature the long-term strength of the AE-1 alloy decreases and the creep rate increases.

     
  4. 4.

    The AE-1 alloy has high mechanical properties by comparison with aluminum conductors.
