Conclusions

To determine the susceptibility of seam-welded stainless steel to intercrystalline corrosion (AM method, GOST 6032-58) it is sufficient to test the base metal. Parts used at working temperatures below 350°C do not need to be tempered, while parts used at working temperatures above 350°C must be tempered.

It is not necessary to test seam-welded reference samples.
