The use of gas chromatography to study solubility in polymeric systems

Since the first use of GLC in 1969 to study the thermodynamics of polymer solutions, a wide range of properties has been investigated. A brief description of the method is presented and measurements of solubility, Henry's Law constants, activity coefficients and solubility parameters for a number of solvents in poly(dimethyl siloxane), polyisobutylene and ethylene-propylene rubber at 25°C are given to illustrate the method.
