Abstract

We study a time-independent displacement mode which is an exact solution of Vlasov-Poisson equation for spherical stellar systems and we show that it corresponds to an aspherical mode. Using Bartholomew formalism, we write it explicitly to the second order and we give its generating functionG m. For this marginal mode we show that the second variation of energy δW vanishes.
