Conclusions

  1. 1.

Low-temperature heating at 50 and 70°C increases the strength and lowers the elongation of alloy 01420 artificially aged at 120°C for 12 h. The change in the properties depends on the heating time — 3000 h at 50°C and 1650 at 70°C. The strength characteristics change little with additional heating, but the elongation continues to decrease (to a greater extent at 70°C).

  2. 2.

Process heating of artificially aged material increases the strength characteristics and lowers the elongation, which also depends on the temperature and time. For retention of fairly high elongation (up to 8.5%) the permissible heating time can be considered 100 h at 100–120°C and 24 h at 150–170°C.

  3. 3.

Alloy 01420 aged at 120°C for 12 h can be heated no more than 10 h at 200°C.
