Abstract
An analytical one-zone model (shell source) shows complex secular modes, if perturbations of chemical abundances are included. Very short periods (≲5a) can be calculated by choice of physically reasonable sets of parameters. Complex eigenvalues with unstable real parts may be regarded asthermal instabilities with high frequency modulation of amplitude.
