Abstract
It is pointed out that there is a better than even chance that a galactic supernova will occur during the lifetime of the present generation of astronomers. A brief discussion is given of a number of types of observations that could be made of such a unique event. It would be particularly important to obtain speckle interferometry of the expanding supernova. High time-resolution spectroscopy and photometry should be obtained during the early phases of the outburst.
