The main sequence location as function of chemical composition

Abstract

Available data for computed zero-age lines are analyzed, and empirical formulae giving the luminosity as function of the chemical composition are derived. Mass-luminosity relations are also presented for a very wide range of the chemical composition parameters (X, Y, Z). Comparison with the observed zero-age lines are discussed.
