Forced diffusion: A mechanism to create dust clouds

Abstract

Photodesorption from dust grains by an anisotropic radiation field will lead to much greater momentum transfer than that associated with radiation pressure. This can cause the segregation of dust to the centres of moderately dense interstellar clouds.
