A method for evaluating abundances in long neutron capture and nuclear decay chains

Abstract

The Maclaurin expansion and algebraic addition formula for abundances in long neutron capture reaction chains are given. These permit the calculation of abundances without the numerical difficulties which occur with the use of the well-known Bateman solution.
