Fluorescence of 9-aminoacridine in water to 30 kbar

Abstract

The effect of pressure on the fluorescence spectrum of 9-aminoacridine has been measured in liquid and frozen aqueous solution at room temperature. A significant change in fluorescent properties identifies the water-ice transformation; this change is attributed to aggregation of the dye in the frozen system.
