Abstract
Cation and anion transference numbers are reported for KCl in a 10 wt. % ethanol-water mixture at 25°C and at concentrations from 0.02 to 0.1 mole/liter−1. The moving-boundary method employing the standard optical detector was used. The sum of the cation and anion transference numbers was within 0.02% of unity, and the limiting cation value ofT +o (KCl)=0.5017 verifies the earlier data of Fratiello and Kay.
