Abstract
A low-cost easily constructed instrument for the manufacture of repeated element grids is described. Such grids may be used as entrance or exit apertures in spectrometers. The instrument is interferometrically controlled and can produce grids with regular spacing or in accordance with some desired function. The shape of the repeated element is in the operator's control.
