Abstract

The paper describes the antenna system, principles of the electrical beam steering, checks of the pattern parameters and the receiving facilities of the UTR-2 radio telescope. Principal characteristics of the instrument are given and possible errors analysed for the operating frequencies of 10, 12.6, 14.7, 16.7, 20 and 25 MHz. The methods of survey work on discrete radio sources are described with an analysis of the flux measurement errors specific for the decametre band. A computer algorithm of data processing is presented.
