α- and β-scopodonnines from Datura inoxia seeds

A mixture of two alkaloids, d, ℓ-α- and β-scopodonnines, known earlier as synthetic products, has been isolated for the first time from the seed ofDatura inoxia. The spatial structure of β-scopodonnine dimethiodide has been established by the x-ray structural method.
