Summary

Saccocoelium obesum Looss, 1902,S. tensum Looss, 1902,Haploporus benedeni (Stossich, 1887) Looss, 1902 andDicrogaster contractus Looss, 1902 (Trematoda, Haploporidae) have been rediscovered in Mullet from the western mediterranean and have been redescribed.

The life cycle of the first three trematodes has been described and experimentally reproduced.

— The Molluscan intermediate-host is a gastropod from either the family Rissoidae (S. obesum) or the family Hydrobiidae (S. tensum, H. benedeni).

— The gymnocephalous cercaria encyst in the extern environment.
