Alkaloid specioseine from Colchicum speciosum

The fraction of weak bases fromColchicum speciosum Stev. (family Liliaceae) has yielded a new compound — specioseine. The structure of 10-demethylspeciosine has been established for this base by chemical and spectral methods.
