Summary

Compounds of composition MCl5−n(OPh)n · L (M = Nb or Ta; n = 1 or 2 and L = monodentate ligand) have been prepared by reacting phosphoryl and amine oxide ligands with phenoxy-niobium(V) and -tantalum(V) chlorides and characterized by their analytical data, molecular weights, molar conductance and i.r. spectra.
