The cytochemical enzyme reaction pattern of long term cell cultures from guinea pig epidermis

Summary

Cell cultures derived from adult guinea pig epidermis were subjected to a variety of cytochemical enzyme reactions after up to four months of culture. All cultures exhibited an analogous reaction pattern which remained unchanged throughout the entire observation period. After four months they still corresponded to the pattern encountered in the basal layers of the epidermis. All cells reacted identically; cells with the cytochemical enzyme profile of the corium were not found.
