Asymmetric triple-core couplers

Abstract

Triple-core couplers with asymmetric structure are examined and the mode patterns with arbitrarily mismatched and separated cores are presented. It is found that the mode patterns experience a dramatic change as the symmetry of the structures is perturbed no matter how small a perturbation is.
