Abstract
The spectroscopic assignments of Olsen, Anderson and Stewart (1971), for their observed solar eclipse wavelengths in the near-infrared region between 1µm and 3µm, are reviewed in the light of more recent information. Several assignments are shown to need revision, and alternate candidates are proposed, including the possibility of an interesting forbidden line emitted from the high metastable level 3s3p3d (4F9/2) of Fe XIV.
