Abstract
Linear response of steady-state melting and of evaporation processes to the modulation of radiation intensity is considered in the framework of a Stephan-like approach. It is shown that resonance behaviour of the surface temperature pertinent to the evaporation process persists in the case where the evaporation front is preceded by a melting transition.
