Abstract

An optical switching experinteml Based; ob the electrooptic control of total internal reflection of light in a Ti/LiNbO3 planar waveguide is reported The device uses a refractive index gap, formed by only applying a voltage The operating principles and characteristics are discussed. The dependence of the switching efficiency on the mode depth is investigated in detail.
