Effect of strokes shift on the operating frequency of lasers

Abstract

A probabilistic technique is used to compute the dependence of the generating frequency on the Stokes shift in the absorption and emission spectra of materials. It is shown that the generation frequency can vary over a broad range with varying resonator Q.
