IR studies of the active centers in an aluminosilicate catalyst and in γ-alumina

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Abstract

Pyridine is used as giving different and very characteristic changes in its spectrum on interaction with proton acceptors and electron acceptors. The surfaces ofγ-alumina is found to have electron-acceptor centers, while the aluminosilicate catalyst has centers of both types.
