Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

The new phytoecdysteroid ecdysterone 22,25-di-O-benzoate (IV) has been isolated from the epigeal organs ofSilene scabrifolia Kom. The alkaline hydrolysis of (IV) gave ecdysterone 25-O-benzoate and ecdysterone (I). Details of the IR, UV, mass, PMR, and13C NMR spectra of compound (IV) are given.
