Abstract
The solid-phase synthesis of oxytocin on commercial Sephadex LH-20 is described. The biological activity of the product obtained was 132 AU/mg, and its oxytocin content, according to HPLC, was 28.2%. It was shown that the amount of oxytocin and the biological activity do not depend on the degree of addition of Gly9 to the polymer matrix within the range of 0.6–1.6 mmoles of Gly9/g of resin; after regeneration, the Sephadex LH-20 can be re-used for solid-phase synthesis of oxytocin.
