The reaction of skin proteins to high doses of corticosteroids

Summary

After systemic application of high doses of corticosteroids distinct changes of the skin which becomes much harder are observed macroscopically. Changes in the skin-proteins in examinations with column-chromatography and with fingerprinting might point at changes in the structural composition. The findings are discussed with regard to the literature.

Zusammenfassung

Nach der Verabfolgung hoher Dosen vonCorticosteroiden lassen sich bereitsmakroskopisch deutliche Veränderungen der Haut — diese wird viel fester — erkennen.

Änderungen im Verhalten der Eiweiße bei dersäulenchromatographischen Untersuchung und bei der Darstellung derAminosäuren- und Peptidmuster können mit allem Vorbehalt auf Änderungen im strukturellen Verhalten resp. im Vernetzungsgrad schließen lassen.

Die Befunde werden anhand der Literatur diskutiert.
