Schlußfolgerung

1.
Kastration noch nicht geschlechtsreifer Meerschweinchen führt zu vermehrter Kolloidspeicherung in der Schilddrüse. Kryptorchidkastrierte Tiere zeigten diese Erscheinung nicht.

Kastration von Ratten bewirkt geringfügige Schilddrüsenatrophie, und zwar beim MÄnnchen stÄrker als beim Weibchen, bei beiden unabhÄngig vom Alter.

Schilddrüsenexstirpation ruft bei ausgewachsenen mÄnnlichen Ratten keine histologische Änderung in Hoden, Samenblase und Prostata hervor, wohl aber geringen Gewichtsverlust der Samenblasen und hÄufig Verlust sexuellen Interesses.

Bei noch nicht geschlechtsreifen mÄnnlichen Ratten verlangsamt Schilddrüsenentfernung die Entwicklung der Fortpflanzungsorgane, verbunden mit einer Hemmung des Gesamtkörperwachstums.

Schilddrüsenexstirpation verringert bei ausgewachsenen weiblichen Ratten die Zahl der Corpora lutea und verkleinert den Uterus bei verlÄngertem Dioestrusintervall des ovariellen Zyklus. Wohl kam es bei drei Viertel der thyreoidektomierten Weibchen zur Befruchtung und einer normalen Anzahl von Embryonen, aber durch Resorption und GebÄrunfÄhigkeit nur bei einem Drittel der Tiere zu lebendigen Würfen.

Bei noch nicht geschlechtsreifen weiblichen Tieren tritt nach Schilddrüsenentfernung Wachstumshemmung und damit parallellaufend Verzögerung im Eintritt der Geschlechtsreife auf.

Die Schilddrüse beeinflußt das Fortpflanzungssystem, vermutlich hauptsÄchlich indirekt über den Grundumsatz.
