Summary
-
1.
It has been found that mandelic, tartaric, malic, citric and lactic acids interfere in the cerimetric titration of iron(II). The induction factor has been found to increase with increase in the concentration of the interfering substance and decrease with increase in the concentration of sulphuric acid.
-
2.
Phosphoric acid and sodium fluoride have been found to be good induction suppressors.
-
3.
Sodium fluoride has also been found to be a good suppressor of the induced interference of oxalic acid.
