Bestimmung des Einstellverhaltens von sauerstoffempfindlichen Platinelektroden durch Messungen im lebenden Gewebe

Determination of the response behavior of oxygen-sensitive platinum electrodes by measurements in living tissue

Summary

Errors arising in polarographic measurements of oxygen due to the inertia of the electrode, can be eliminated if the response behavior of the electrode to sudden pressure pulses is known.

In the present paper methods are described by which the response behavior of an electrode inserted into tissue can be determined. In addition to general relationships, special cases which are important for practical use, are studied in detail. Errors occurring in the determination of the response behavior and being causend by the oxygen pressure gradient in tissue can be avoided by formation of appropriate mean values.

Besides, a special new method is described by which information on the oxygen pressure gradient in tissue can be obtained.
