Studie über spermienantikörper in menschlichen seren anhand der immunfluorescenztechnik

An immunofluorescent study of circulating sperm antibodies in humans

Summary

  1. 1.

    By means of an indirect immunofluorescent technique with reference to Weller and Coons (1954), modified for spermatozoal immunofluorescence we found antibodies against spermatozoa in the sera of:

    • 6 of 35 female partners of couples with unexplained infertility,

    • 5 of 35 male partners of couples with unexplained infertility,

    • 8 of 40 prostitutes,

    • 8 of 18 men after orchitis and vasoresection.

    • In contrast to these findings the sera of

      • 20 fertile women,

      • 25 fertile men, and

      • 20 virgins

    showed negative results with the test mentioned above.

  2. 2.

    The site of the antigen-antibody-reaction was mainly the spermatozoal tail and in the second place, the equatorial segment.

  3. 3.

    The immunoglobulins primarily belonged to the IgG and secondly to the IgA class.

  4. 4.

    Our results differ partly from the findings made by other authors perhaps on account of methodical differences.

  5. 5.

    The clinical relevance and associated problems are discussed.

Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.

    Mit einer für die Belange der Spermatozoenfluorescenz modifizierten indirekten Immunfluorescenztechnik in Anlehnung an Weller u. Coons (1954) wurden bei

    • 6 von 35 Frauen aus unerklärbar infertiler Ehe,

    • 5 von 35 Männern aus unerklärbar infertiler Ehe,

    • 8 von 40 Prostituierten und

    • 8 von 18 Männern nach Orchitis bzw. Vasoresektion Spermatozoenantikörper gefunden. Im Gegensatz hierzu verhielten sich

      • 20 fertile Frauen,

      • 25 fertile Männer sowie

      • 20 Virgines

    im gleichen Teste negativ.

  2. 2.

    Als Ort der Antigen-Antikörperreaktion wurde am häufigsten der Schwanz, am zweithäufigsten das Äquatorialsegment gefunden.

  3. 3.

    Die beteiligten Immunglobuline gehörten vorzugsweise der Klasse IgG, an zweiter Stelle der Klasse IgA an.

  4. 4.

    Unsere Ergebnisse unterscheiden sich teilweise von den immunfluorescenzmikroskopisch erhobenen Befunden anderer Autoren, was u. U. auf methodischen Unterschieden beruhen könnte.

  5. 5.

    Die klinische Relevanz und Problematik wird diskutiert.
