Summary
It is reported chemical-toxicological investigation in the tissues, stomach contents and blood of a 16 months old child, who had died of a poisoning with the combination-drug Vertebran.
Caffeine was identificated in brain by infrared spectroscopy; in blood isopropylphenazone was found by thin layer chromatography. Other components of Vertebran couldn't be found. It is pointed to be toxicological importance of the caffeine identification.
