The present state examination: Its use without formal training in a population survey

Summary

As part of a sample survey of a general population, the Present State Examination was carried out on 157 subjects by four interviewers — two psychiatrists and two clinical psychologists — who had not received formal training from the authors of the instrument. It is shown that there were no significant differences in the results obtained by different interviewers.
