Summary
Patients suffering from essential hypertension associated with normal cardiovascular findings (20 cases) as well as those with the symptoms of left-ventricular hypertrophy and left-heart strain (20 cases) showed an increase in the retinal electric activity. In patients suffering from renal hypertension (20 cases) subnormal ERG findings were registered. The value of these findings obtained using the high-intensity photostimulation for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hypertension is discussed.
